YOU Might Be Promoting The Schemes Of The Devil!?!
We are directed in Ephesians 6:11-12 to “Put on the complete armor of Yahweh1, for you to have power to stand against the schemes of the devil. Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual matters of wickedness in the heavenlies.” Why? Because the devil is deceiving and using people in receiving worship like The Most High.2
The following is an expose' on one of the many ways that the devil has contrived in his efforts to replace the Truth with lies and fabrications and ultimately dethrone Yahweh.
Do you know where the current names for the days of the week come from? In the Scriptures, the days where not given names. They were referred to by number. Consider from Genesis the phrase, “And the evening and the morning were the first day" and so on for each subsequent day.The Seventh day is the only day that is particularly blessed and set-apart. But it was not given a name other than what it represented; Rest. So where did these names come from and what do they represent? Lets find out!
DAY #1 – Renamed; “Sun-day”
Latin; “dies Solis, the Day–of-the-Sun.” A devoted day in honor of the Sun.
Sun worship, under various names, can be traced back to Nimrod, the founder of Babylon.3 This pattern of worshiping the sun, moon, planets, and stars permeated the Babylonians, Persians, Chaldeans, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Celts, Mayans, Aztecs, and Indians. Names such as Baal, Shamash, Moloch, Ahura-Mazda, Dagon, Sol, Marduk, Mithras, Krishna, Zeus, Amun-Ra, Helios and Apollo all varied from culture to culture, but were used in reference to sun worship. Rulers like the Egyptian Pharaoh and the Roman Caesar were worshiped and thought to be sun deities. That may have carried over to the founders of America! Why would Robert Mills and the Washington National Monument Society choose to build a 555 feet tall, or 6660 inch sun splitter, or obelisk4 to memorialize America's first president?
DAY #2 – Renamed; Mon-day
The Day-of-the–Moon. A devoted day in honor of the moon.
Monday comes from the Anglo-Saxon “Monandaeg.” “Monan”; moon / “Daeg”; day. “The Moon's Day!” On this day moon worshipers gave homage to Artemis(Diana), goddess of the moon, the woods and of the hunt. Artemis, often depicted with the crescent moon is similar to depictions of the virgin mother, Mary in Roman Catholic illustrations. Hmmm...
Acts 19:23-35 describes the fanaticism of Moon worship that existed in Ephesus.
The Scriptures warn specifically about sun and moon worship:
Deut. 4:19 “... and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which Yahweh your Elohim has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.” (See Deut. 17:2-7)
DAY #3 – Renamed; Tuesday
Tyr’s Day: “day of Tiu”. A devoted day in honor of a Teutonic/Germanic divinity.
Tiu, was the Germanic deity of war and of the sky, associated with the Norse god Tyr, a defender god of justice and heroism as recorded in Viking mythology.
DAY #4 – Renamed; Wednesday
Woden's Day: A devoted day in honor of the chief god of Germanic mythology. Considered highly skilled in magic, this Celtic deity was, (to the Teutonic Pagan), the husband of Freya, or Frigga. The Romans honored Mercury on this day, calling it “Mercuri dies”, Mercury’s Day. Fourth day evening was highly regarded as a night of magic by the Druids who would meet to perform their rituals of holding hands while forming a circle around the symbol of Woden, (a burning Celtic cross), as they were chanting, enchanting, casting spells, etc. on any and all opposing them.
DAY #5 – Renamed; Thursday
Thor’s Day; A devoted day in honor of the god of thunder, the son of Woden.
Thor’s emblem was the hammer, interpreted as the letter “T” which also takes us back to the son of Nimrod and Semiramis; Tammuz. Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons, pp. 197-205, frankly calls the T, the sign of Tammuz, the cross “this pagan symbol... the Tau, the sign of the cross, the mystic sign of the Chaldeans (Babylonians) and Egyptians – the true original form of the letter T – the initial of the name of Tammuz... the Babylonian cross was the recognized emblem of Tammuz” An abomination in Ezekiel 8:14-17.
DAY #6 – Renamed; Friday
Frey Day; A devoted day in honor of Frigga, the wife of Woden.
The Old English Frigedaeg. The fertility concept associated with this day is seen in the Greeks honoring Aphrodite, the Romans venerating Venus and the Egyptians worshiping Isis, the most obvious being depicted with the symbol of the fish on her head. The fish symbol pre-dates the Egyptians, coming from the Phoenician/Philistine cult of Dagon.5 “Dag” is Hebrew for fish, and Latin for Pisces. It was chosen by the Pagans because a female fish lays hundreds, sometimes thousands, of eggs ~ a symbol for fertility. The Roman version Venus, or Astarte in Nineveh, was also known as Ashtoreth6 Astarte, Ishtar, Eostre, Eastre, and in western culture; Easter! She is also known as “the queen of heaven”,7 a very compelling phrase, seeing that Catholicism has assigned that same status to the virgin Mary, the mother of Yahshua!!!8
The icon of Dagon continued through Catholicism being seen in the Pope's fish hat and their avoidance of red meat on this day, replacing it with the “fish fry-day” (The word “fry” is describing a young fish).
The Greek word ichthys (Ichthus) spelled: iota (I) - chi (X) - theta (O) - upsilon (Y) - sigma (E) was originally interpreted “fish”. With man's proneness towards idolatry and with considerable craft, the fish symbol (IXOYE) has become a symbol crafted into religious jewelry. Hmmm. Aren't Christians supposed to BE fishers of men instead of wearing fish god (Dagon) symbols?
DAY #7 – Renamed; Saturday
Saturn Day; A devoted day in honor of the Roman god; Saturn.
Saturn was the Roman deity of agriculture, corresponding to the Greek deity Cronus. A weekly day dedicated to Saturnus, coinciding with the big party at the end of the Roman year at the Solstice; Saturnalia. Saturn Day was also called Satyr Day, and is linked to the other Greco-Roman mythology. The festival of “Saturnalia” was modeled perfectly after the SATYR, a goat-legged half man with horns and pointed ears, that was believed to be a drunken, lecherous demon with an abnormal sexual appetite.
At the Council of Laodicea, held by The Roman Catholic church, in Canon 29, we read “Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday, but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day (Sunday), they shall especially honor, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing (observing the 7th day Sabbath), they shall be shut out from Christ.”9
Theologians and scholars admit there is no Scriptural basis for this change, but it was done by the authority of the Roman Catholic Church. Here is one of the many quotes in Catholic documents stating their (supposed) authority for such a change;
"The observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the [Catholic] church." Monsignor Louis Segur, Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today (1868), p. 213
As stated in the opening of this tract, there is a deceiver and one of his methods in accomplishing his desire to be worshiped and to dethrone Yahweh is replacing and hiding what Yahweh has established. Herein we see that he has been successful in replacing the numbers of the days of week by renaming them after false, mythical entities that were actually worshiped! When we reference them on a daily basis, Lucifer is actually using us to proclaim their dedicated day, whether we believe in them or not! To the irreligious, this isn't an issue. To the pagan, they mock our ignorance! To the people who profess belief in the Scriptures, we should know better and act accordingly!
Which one are you?
Yahweh forbids the casual use of the names of false deities!
Exo 23:13 “And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth”
So, now you have something to consider in reference to the days of the week and how the deceiver is accomplishing his goal! Referring to the days by their number; 1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day, and so on, is challenging at times, as we converse with folks who aren't familiar with this approach. However, when explaining our reasoning it is also a good way to begin a dialogue about the Truth! And as believers, isn't that why we are here?
